Ms. Kathleen Ernst PhD student of the Department of Sociology at the University of Illinois, United States delivered a significant donation of equipment for the Room for the Care of People with Special Needs "Frank Emilio".
The donation was received by Eliani de la Torre Puig, Head of the General Service Room "Domingo Figarola Caneda" and Esperanza Rijo, a specialist for the Care of People with Special Needs "Frank Emilio".
Ms. Kathleen Ernst visited Cuba in 2014 to conduct research for the Master's Degree on Cuban Women and learned about the existence of this Room and of blind librarians and the work so successful and useful that they develop, in order to guarantee services to women, disabled people. The donation consists of a talking Scanner, headphones and special keyboards, monitor device and other accessories.
